Can anyone recommend another service, SIP or otherwise, that can receive calls and sms? I don’t mind either playing around to get things going, learning something new, though I’m not a serious coder, more of a coda it might be fun learning how to rig some stuff together and even code some js.
I also love to read any good links to “how-tos for cheapos” and resources and such. Some articles on good ways to use these services would be very helpful.
On the other hand, I also don’t mind paying a bit Is it twilio that most recommend? What about a Google number?
One consideration is whether it is at all possible to be authorized by a bank, for example. My US bank checks and I am guessing ixnays any online number.
Another is if there is any benefit to any particular area code though none truly apply to an area any more do they?
Anyone using a service they’d recommend or have heard good about?
Or maybe this is all a waste of time and some Android app is just much easier. I see a few touting calls and sms though those free race to the bottom fights usually go badly.
Thanks. And…
If this is an unacceptable or simply rude question to post here, my honest apologies, as I sincerely appreciate having had the app for a few years now and thought about this before posting but doesn’t seem like you’re losing anything if some people go elsewhere. Probably actually better.
There’s no news, no updates, the functionality is only now reduced it appears: one can’t receive calls, locations and other things never panned out, quality is getting rather poor (unless my internet but the calls seem worse), and now I have some SIP error that won’t even let me call. So I need to look around.
But very sincerely, I do appreciate having had the app available to me. If not a post you want here, it’s your forum and zap away
