I haven’t seen anyone talk about this yet, so thought I’d make a quick post for my scambait friends!
If you would like to make your computer sound/audio output act as a microphone/audio input, here is a more or less easy way to do so. (let me know if you have a different preferred method).
First of all, why would you want to do this?
Many reasons!
- Connect 2 callers from the same call center, so you can listen to them talk to eachother.
- Play pre-recorded audio from an mp3 file.
- Use custom online soundboards! (my favorite one is the Ownage Pranks one)
- Play annoying sounds from youtube (or goats making human sounds, or pr0n lol)
This is how to get it set up:
- Install ManyCam Virtual Webcam. I use V 4.1.0.12(not sure if free one supports it, I just downloaded a cracked copy - not recommended…?)
- Open ManyCam and go to the “Audio” tab.
- Click on “Add Microphone”
- Choose “System sound”
- You may need to go to your windows recording settings and set ManyCam as the default device
Now you should be good to go! Go ahead and call yourself to test it.
Known issue:
One of my computers had an automatic sound decrease in recording devices, so the other person would have a hard time hearing your computer. I have not found a solid fix yet, since it’s not a persistent issue, but there is a script I found online that automatically forces the db levels to stay at max volume.
Let me know if you have the same issue and want a copy of that script.
Also let me know what method you use!
Cheers!
