This is a recurring, persistent problem with a product that has great potential but is not yet ready for the marketplace. Notwithstanding, I remain hopeful for its bright future as a seemingly lone candidate with large upside as the marketplace's early entrant. As such, an early entrant can dominate the marketplace, but can also fall flat on its face if it is underfunded or lacks proper management, both yielding an unsatisfactory user experience. Today, such an unsatisfactory user experience exists for two simple reasons:
- The FireRTC utility is down for all users; and
- There is no indication from FireRTC of whether it is on the user's end or the provider's end. This leads to great frustration on the user's end, checking settings, rebooting the computer, checking microphone access, browser settings, trying to set up multiple new accounts, and the like. After several of these sessions in frustration, the average user quits and moves on to another utility or application. The exception to the norm is someone with great perseverance like me, who continues on, for better or worse, hoping that someday, FireRTC will consistently work and be managed as a professional utility.
These problems have to be nipped in the bud early on for users to take this product seriously and for market acceptance. Otherwise, the product will remain a free, seldom-working toy for teens to scambait with, rather than for mature, professional users like me to pay to use to make our world of business more efficient and more private. I see big problems in this area unless attention is immediately focused thereupon. In short, get with the program!
